Students will be able to :
1. make a minute presentation with notes using some form of media such as Powerpoint to an entire class on a piece of their own work explaining details about the piece and answering predetermined questions about the piece.
2. join Facebook and engage in online discussions on topics of interest with classmates.
3. cultivate global awareness by having students participate in an international event/activity either locally or through the Internet.
4. participate in short dialogues of at least 8 turns on topics of personal and public interest utilizing set phrases and strategies.
This course will increase students ability to express their ideas and opinions in English on a variety of themes.
The course will use both real-world and computer-based activities to assist students with developing the necessary skills to discuss topics relative to their lives and their studies.
Students will need to bring computers to class, as many of the activities from the textbook are computer-based.

This course will use an active learning approach to learning focusing on communication and presentation skills along with vocabulary development. Students will work in pairs and small groups to complete activities with some individualized work being completed. Students will also complete work online both inside and outside of class.
Weekly Assessment: 20%
PLAGIARISM (盗用): Students submitting work that is not original will receive a score of '0' for the assignment. If this occurs a second time, the student submitting the plagiarized work will be reported to the office.

Students must have the textbook for class.
The Final Exam consists of a written exam and a final presentation in week 15 of the term.
Only “Core English D” students can take this course.
There will be Quizzes during the semester and presentation skills practice to help students for their final presentation.
Students must bring computers and/or a dictionary to class.
